OPERA star Roderick Williams OBE will be marking his appointment as patron of one of the largest and oldest chamber choirs in the West Midlands, the Birmingham Bach Choir, with a special recital in Bromsgrove.
Roderick, described as a national treasure, will be performing Beethoven and Schubert, accompanied by pianist Susie Allan, at Routh Hall in Bromsgrove School.
The accomplished baritone, who has recently completed his 2017/18 season with the Royal Opera, was winner of the Royal Philharmonic Society Awards Singer of the Year in 2016 and awarded an OBE for services to music in June 2017.
Roderick has sung with the likes of the Berlin Philharmonic, New York Philharmonic, and Royal Scottish National Orchestra, and his numerous recordings include Vaughan Williams, Berkeley and Britten operas for Chandos, and an extensive repertoire of English song with pianist Iain Burnside.
The performance is on May 9 starting at 7.30pm.
