A CHARITY gig is being held in Hopwood to raise cash for the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham.
The concert, at Hopwood Village Hall on February 3 from 2pm to 4pm, is raising money for the lung and heart transplant department.
Victoria Kavanagh said: "18 months ago my husband underwent a double lung transplant after suffering lung failure. He received amazing care at the QE Hospital and we owe them a huge amount of gratitude.
"As a way of saying thank you my husband has organised a charity concert, my son and his friends are in a rock band called Media Blackout and they cover bands such as Arctic Monkeys, Nirvana, Blur, Muse, and a few other favourites.
"They and two other bands who all attend Alvechurch Middle School will be rocking out for a couple of hours. It’ll be loud we’re hoping to get the hall jumping."
Doors open at 1.40pm.
