FACING the audience for one night at next week’s performance of Trial by Laughter at Malvern’s Festival Theatre will be the co-writers of the comedy.

It has been confirmed that the writing-duo of Ian Hislop and Nick Newman will be on stage for a post-show questions and answers session on the opening night - Tuesday, January 22, when the audience will be invited to stay in their seats after the performance and ask questions.

The play is a follow-up to their war-time story, The Wipers Times, which was such a hit during last year’s UK tour.

Once again Hislop, who is Editor of the satirical magazine Private Eye and is also a familiar face on our television screens with regular appearances on Have I Got News for You as well as presenting railway documentaries, and co-writer Newman have once again taken inspiration from real life events for their new offering.

Trial by Laughter will be at Malvern’s Festival Theatre for a week from Tuesday, January 22 to Saturday, January 26.
