WORCESTER Warriors succumbed to a 66-17 defeat at Sale Sharks in the Premiership Under 18 Academy League.
Sale scored 10 tries to Warriors’ three at Manchester Metropolitan University to secure a bonus-point victory.
Following clever interplay between scrum-half Jake Leonard and his forwards, Max Baggs barged over from the 22 to make it 5-0 to the visitors.
But Sale hit back quickly through Ciaran Booth and Tom Curtis converted.
Warriors full-back Noah Heward scored a stunning solo try but Bevan Rodd countered for the hosts.
James Harper, James Rooney and Tom Walsh then crossed as Sale led 33-10 at the break.
Rouban Birch, Connor Doherty, Ewan Ashman and Sam Dugdale extended the advantage to 59-10.
Warriors got a consolation score through centre Rob Lester but Sale scored the final try via Cal Ford.
Worcester host Newcastle Falcons at Sixways in their final league game on Saturday (1pm) needing a win to stand a chance of reaching finals day.
