WORCESTER Wolves have re-signed Jermel Kennedy for a second season after he impressed in his debut campaign with the British Basketball League team.

The 6ft 7in forward played 41 Wolves matches in 2016-17 on joining from Spanish team CB Clavijo Logrono, averaging 7.4 rebounds and 12.7 points per game.

When Worcester went on a 16-game winning streak the 27-year-old won the BBL player of the month for March.

Wolves head coach Paul James said: “I’m delighted we have been able to secure Jermel for another season.

"He was a player that last season I thought had the qualities to have an impact in the league and help us be a very good team on his way to averaging 12 points and seven rebounds a game.

"These are numbers I fully expect him to improve upon this time around.

“Jermel contributes in many different ways, giving us some great options with his all-round game which I believe is perfect for the BBL.

"He had an outstanding March which led to him being awarded player of the month so more of the same would be great.

"I’m expecting him to have a dominant season having had the experience of the last campaign.”

Wolves play their first friendly of 2017-18 at Bristol Flyers tomorrow before facing the same team at the University of Worcester Arena on Monday.
