JERMEL Kennedy has been handed the Molten BBL Player of the Month accolade to complete a March double for Worcester Wolves.

The top prize for the forward comes hot on the heels of head coach Paul James taking the coaching gong.

It recognises a fantastic month for Wolves who were the only unbeaten team and won more games than any other British Basketball League club.

Although it was an impressive team effort by Worcester, their superb run has been underpinned by the contributions of Kennedy.

The Canadian had to see off his colleagues Maurice Walker and Marek Klassen to clinch the award, with both-teammates in the mix.

Kennedy had a brilliant month from the floor and shot 65 per cent as he returned 11.6 points per game. He also weighed in with some hard work on the glass by pulling down an average of 7.6 rebounds per outing.

Perhaps most strongly underlining his all-round contribution was that he also finished in the monthly top ten for assists, steals and blocks.

Kennedy handed out 4.6 assists per game and snapped up 2.8 steals which was the third best in the league.
