STEVE Magoffin returns to the Worcestershire squad for Wednesday’s Specsavers County Championship Division One encounter with Lancashire at Blackfinch New Road (11am).

The experienced seamer was signed primarily to play four-day cricket and did not feature in Rapids' Royal London One-Day Cup campaign.

Magoffin has played in three of the opening five Championship games, missing matches against Nottinghamshire and Surrey with a slight hamstring strain.

He has kept up his match sharpness by playing for the seconds in the Championship matches with Nottinghamshire at Stourbridge and Durham at Kidderminster.

Martin Guptill will make his debut for Worcestershire and is the latest New Zealand opening batsman to play for the County after the likes of club legend Glenn Turner and then Lou Vincent.

Brett D’Oliveira will captain the side in the absence of Joe Leach who is sidelined for the rest of the season.

Leach misses his first Championship game since not being selected for the opening two matches of the 2015 season.

Worcestershire from: Mitchell, Guptill, Fell, Clarke, D’Oliveira, Cox, Barnard, Twohig, Magoffin, Morris, Brown, Whiteley.
