WORCESTERSHIRE under 17s were involved in a thrilling tie with their Devon counterparts in the Royal London One-Day Cup group encounter at Heathcoat.

The visitors were set a 257 target and bowled out off the final delivery of the game as last man Henry Marshall was stumped off the bowling of Luke Medlock.

Devon won the toss and totalled 256-6 in their 50 overs.

Pete Clark (2-63), Elliot Mason (1-39), Charlie Greening (1-45) and Zain Ul-Hassan were the wicket-takers.

But Marshall also bowled seven tight overs in which he conceded just 12 runs.

Opener Clark scored 62 off 92 balls with seven fours when Worcestershire replied, sharing in stands of 69 for the first wicket with Ben Fitzmaurice (19) and 56 for the third wicket with Ul-Hassan.

Ul-Hassan went on to make 64 from 87 deliveries with one six and five fours and featured in a partnership of 62 for the fourth wicket with Dan Meredith (25).

Sam Flavell chipped in with 19 off 14 balls to keep Worcestershire in the hunt but after reaching 222-5 a late flurry of wickets ensued in a thrilling finale to the game.

n Worcestershire Academy defeated the Midland Club Cricket Conference by four wickets at Stourbridge.

MCCC elected to bat and totalled 200-8 in their 50 overs with Zac Smith scoring 51 off 74 balls with eight boundaries.

George Marshall (3-37) and Adam Finch (2-21) were the most successful academy bowlers.

An unbeaten 66 by Will Wade from 81 deliveries with one six and three fours helped the academy to victory.

But there were also other useful contributions from Alex Hinkley (44 off 52 balls with one six and five fours) and an unbeaten 36 from Ed Bragg (48 balls with four fours).

Dylan Ross-Watt picked up 3-26 for MCCC.
