ALEXEI Kervezee's seven wicket haul helped Worcestershire seconds to a two-day win over Nottinghamshire Seconds by seven wickets in the Second Eleven Championship match at RGS Worcester.

Kervezee's off spin brought him figures of 7-61 from 22.5 overs and followed on from Jack Shantry's 7-39 in the Nottinghamshire first innings.

The former Dutch international had previously only taken one Second Eleven Championship wicket - against Lancashire at Southport seven years ago.

Worcestershire picked up 22 points from their third Championship success of the summer after the wins over Leicestershire at Oakham School and Northamptonshire at Kidderminster.

It was an excellent performance especially with so many players away on international or first team duty.

The home side resumed on 150-3 in their first innings - a lead of 54 after bowling out Notts for 96 on the opening day.

Will Fraine advanced his score to 87, equalling his previous best Championship score of 87 against Yorkshire at Scarborough earlier this season. Indeed, it was his highest score in all Second Eleven cricket.

Worcestershire lost their last six wickets for 13 runs and the last four for no runs as they were dismissed for 208 with Sam Wood returning 5-8 in six overs.

Wood and Jake Libby then put on 91 for the first Notts wicket and went a long way towards wiping out a first innings deficit of 112.

But then Kervezee wreaked havoc as Notts declined to 213 all out and left Worcestershire a 102 target.

They knocked off this total in just 14 overs with Fraine (31) and Kervezee (38) adding 55 for the second wicket.
