WORCESTERSHIRE CCC have had four players selected from their Academy-Pathway programme for the English Schools Cricket Association Under-15s Bunbury Cricket Festival for the second year running.

Malvern College's Jack Haynes has been chosen for the Bunbury Midlands squad for a second time, having captained them as an Under-14 player 12 months ago, along with Zain Hassan, Matthew Davis and Xavier Clarke.

The prestigious Bunbury Festival is being held at Radley College, Oxfordshire from July 17 to 22 and will showcase the skills of 56 of the most talented England Under-15 players in the country.

Opening batsman Haynes, who plays club cricket for Ombersley, is a member of the County's 2015-2016 Academy intake.

Leg-spinner-top order batsman Clarke (Oswestry CC) - brother of Joe Clarke - is part of the satellite academy in Shropshire under the guidance of former Worcestershire paceman Paul Pridgeon.

Top four batsman-seamer Hassan (Stourbridge CC) and late order batsman-opening or first change bowler Davis (Old Elizabethans CC) are part of the senior development of excellence programme which sits just underneath the academy programme.

David English's annual Bunbury Festival has helped discover and nurture many talented cricketers. More than 300 Bunburys have gone onto play first class cricket - and over 60 have represented England.

Four Worcestershire CCC players were selected for the Bunbury Festival last year in Jack Haynes, Musharraf Shazad, Ewan Wilcox and Ryan Wheldon.

Worcestershire Academy Coach Elliot Wilson said: "We have been very fortunate the last three or four years to have a good representation at the Bunburys.

"I don't envisage that being the norm but I think we are in a nice period where we've got a good glut of players.

"We've got a really good representation again this year through Jack Haynes, Zain Hassan, Matthew Davis and Xavier Clarke so that is quite exciting for us.

"Jack Haynes is already a full Worcestershire CCC Academy player and the other three are strong candidates to go onto the Academy this winter.

"People know more about Jack Haynes than most but the other three guys are good players."

The Midlands will do battle with three other sides in the North, South-West and London-East.

Teams will participate in three games of 50 over cricket on a round robin basis, two T20 semi-finals and a T20 final day.
