WORCESTERSHIRE Rapids will be first to take centre stage on Vitality Blast finals day.

The Edgbaston T20 showpiece will get under way at 11am on Saturday, September 15, with Rapids, who overcame Gloucestershire on Saturday, doing battle with Lancashire Lightning in the first semi-final.

This will allow more time for fans for the second last-four clash — Sussex Sharks and Somerset — to head to Birmingham for the 2.30pm start.

The victors of the two clashes will battle it out under lights in the final at 6.45pm.

The line-up for finals day was confirmed on Monday when Somerset defeated Notts Outlaws at Taunton following Sunday’s wash-out.

Lightning overcame Kent Spitfires in the first quarter-final and Sharks came through against Durham Jets on Friday.

The two group winners in Rapids and Somerset and the two third-placed teams in Lightning and Sharks qualified for one of cricket’s biggest showpiece events.
