GEORGE Scrimshaw is included in Worcestershire Rapids' squad for the first time in the NatWest T20 Blast for tonight’s clash with Birmingham Bears at Edgbaston (7pm).
Academy product Scrimshaw has impressed since returning from the stress fracture of the back which ruled him out of the first two months of the season.
He returned 5-12 for the seconds in last week’s T20 match against Yorkshire and picked up another three wickets in a win over Warwickshire in the short format yesterday.
Scrimshaw was part of a Young Lions training camp last winter in the UAE before returning home with the injury.
It means Rapids have three of their brightest young pace bowling prospects included in the squad in Josh Tongue, Pat Brown and Scrimshaw.
Rapids face back-to-back T20 Blast games as Northamptonshire Steelbacks visit New Road tomorrow (2.30pm) before heading straight into Sunday’s Specsavers County Championship Division Two clash with Sussex at New Road (11am).
Rapids from: Clarke, Hastings, Cox, Mitchell, Santner, D’Oliveira, Whiteley, Leach, Barnard, Tongue, Brown, Rhodes, Hepburn, Scrimshaw.
