BRETT D’Oliveira made an instant impact for St Augustine’s on his return to playing in South Africa.

The Worcestershire all-rounder played a key part in his club side’s eight-wicket win in the Premier League against Victorians.

He was starting his second spell with St Augustine’s where grandfather Basil made his name before becoming an England and Worcestershire legend.

Brett scored 81 and picked up six wickets in total.

The Western Province Cricket Association and St Augustine’s will hold a gala dinner and youth cricket experience day in honour of Basil D’Oliveira.

It will be when the Proteas and England play for the Basil D’Oliveira Test Series Trophy next January in Cape Town. Funds raised will go towards building a Basil D’Oliveira Clubhouse at Elfindale.
