DIRECTOR of rugby Alan Solomons insists he is “satisfied” with the outcome of his discussions with referees’ chief Tony Spreadbury.

Solomons said Worcester Warriors raised “various issues” to Spreadbury over some of the refereeing decisions made in their Premiership clash with Wasps earlier this month.

Warriors were penalised 21 times by match official Karl Dickson as they lost the season opener 21-20 at Sixways.

But after being in contact with Spreadbury last week Solomons reckoned Warriors would not be “in that situation again”.

“I am satisfied that the matter has been dealt with appropriately and cognises has been taken of the various issues raised by us,” Solomons said.

“I am confident going forward that we won’t be in that situation again.”

When asked to divulge the results of his case Solomons replied: “No because that information is between us and I am happy with the way the matter has been resolved.

“They look at a situation and see the areas where you have asked for clarification. Once that is done everybody moves forward.”

Solomons said Warriors would continue to look back at calls made by match officials and would contact Spreadbury if there were any concerns that they felt needed addressing.

“Refereeing is a difficult task and referees, like players, have good and bad days,” Solomons added.

“We have got a good relationship with Tony Spreadbury. He is a good man. He has got to manage his referees and I am satisfied with the outcome.”

Wayne Baynes will referee Worcester’s meeting with Newcastle Falcons at Sixways tomorrow (3pm).
