WORCESTER Warriors' players helped England beat Ireland 48-15 in their final game of the 2018 Under 20s Six Nations.

But the nation finished second in the tournament on points difference to France.

Les Bleus' bonus-point win in Wales meant they were crowned champions for the first time since 2014.

Steve Bates' England side won four of their five games in the Six Nations and beat the champions in France 22-6 but relinquished the title they won last year.

Ben Loader, Fraser Dingwall, Ben White, Joe Heyes, Gabriel Ibitoye, Josh Basham and Ben Earl scored tries in front of a 7,356 crowd at Coventry's Ricoh Arena.

Tom Hardwick converted five and kicked a penalty.

Warriors forward James Scott started while Ted Hill and Will Butler were replacements.

Meanwhile, Worcester Valkyries' Lark Davies was a replacement as England women ended their 2018 Six Nations campaign with a bonus-point 33-11 win over Ireland at the Ricoh Arena to finish second in the competition.

Former Worcester player Danielle Waterman was among the scorers.

Marlie Packer, Amy Cokayne, Ellie Kildunne and Amber Reed also scored while Katy Daley-Mclean kicked four penalties.
