THERE was double delight for skipper Donncha O’Callaghan and flanker Sam Lewis at Worcester Warriors’ end-of-season awards last night.

Ireland legend O’Callaghan was named Warriors Rugby Supporters Club’s player of the season and also voted as the fans’ player of the season.

The 38-year-old, who signed a new deal for next term, has played 19 times this season and guided Warriors to 17 points in seven Aviva Premiership matches under Gary Gold reign.

Lewis was chosen as the players' player of the season after making a big impression since returning from a long-term shoulder injury.

He saw off competition from Jackson Willison and Bryce Heem to land the accolade and was also chosen as the coaches player of the season.

Will Spencer, Ryan Mills and Willison were also shortlisted for the coaches honour.

Lewis has played 16 times since making his long-awaited return to action in November.

Hooker Jack Singleton was named as the young player of the season by Warriors' coaches.

Singleton has made 19 appearances for the club and will be part of the first-team set-up from this summer.

Leading try-scorer Josh Adams scooped the Warriors Rugby Supporters Club’s Peter Watkins' young player of the season honour.

Adams made his Warriors first-team debut against Bath at the Recreation Ground in September.

He has racked up 23 appearances this term, scoring 13 tries.

Tighthead prop Nick Schonert was also celebrating after picking up the Warriors Rugby Supporters Club’s True Warrior award.

Schonert has had another impressive campaign, making 20 appearances, and is on the reserve list for England’s summer tour to Argentina.

Departing flanker Sam Betty scooped the community player of the season accolade which has recognised his efforts off the field.

Betty has been Warriors’ Acorns Hospice ambassador and a regular visitor to the Bath Road charity with his team-mates throughout the season.

Betty will be retiring from rugby this summer after 120 appearances and 22 tries for Warriors.

Back-row Phil Dowson was presented with an inscribed whistle by Warriors Rugby Supporters Club.

Dowson is retiring as a player at the end of this campaign to take up a senior coaching role at his former club Northampton Saints.
