The Boston Celtics produced a dramatic late comeback to beat the  Oklahoma City Thunder 100-99.

The Celtics faced a five-point deficit with just 14 seconds left against a Thunder side that had won their last six games.

But three-pointers from Terry Rozier and Marcus Morris either side of Carmelo Anthony’s two missed free throws put the hosts ahead with just 1.2 seconds to go.

Russell Westbrook then missed a three-pointer in the final second as Boston became the first team in this season’s NBA to win after trailing by at least five points with 20 seconds left.

There was another thriller when NBA league leaders the Houston Rockets ended the Portland Trail Blazers’ 13-game win streak.

James Harden scored 42 points as the Rockets prevailed 115-111 in Portland.

The Trail Blazers had equalled the second-longest streak in their franchise’s history, mirroring 13 consecutive wins in December 2007. Their record remains 16.

Meanwhile, Karl-Anthony Towns finished with 30 points and 10 rebounds for his 60th double-double as the Minnesota Timberwolves toppled the Los Angeles Clippers 123-109.

Dennis Schroder scored a career high of 41 points to power the Atlanta Hawks to a 99-94 win over the Utah Jazz while the  the Detroit Pistons eased to a 115-88 victory against the Phoenix Suns.

Elsewhere, the New Orleans Pelicans gave their hopes of a Western Conference playoff spot a boost by beating the Dallas Mavericks 115-105, while the Toronto Raptors came back from eight points behind to defeat the Orlando Magic 93-86.
