NEW Ravens 38 Wolverhampton 22
NEW East Worcestershire Ravens bagged their second win of the season in the Rugby League Midlands Division with a fine victory over Wolverhampton at Finstall Park on Saturday.
Ravens have enjoyed a considerable improvement in recent weeks and this victory only illustrated their resurgence.
The Worcestershire outfit had lost at Wolverhampton 56-6 three weeks ago but they made a mockery of that result with a deserved victory.
Ravens’ improvement has coincided with the ability to call upon a full compliment of players on a consistent basis.
On Saturday, they boasted 24 strong squad and were able to lend their opponents three. Richard Whitehouse came out of retirement and made an immediate impact when he scored two tries.
Rhamal Blake’s has also helped the team turn their form around and he notched up another brace of touch downs to maintain his record of a try scored in all his appearances for the Ravens.
Ravens loan-player Arran Warburton scored his first try of the season against the home team. NEW Ravens have a their third successive home game on Saturday, when they take on Nottingham Outlaws A in the Midlands Division (2.30pm start).
