DROITWICH Archery Society finally have a permanent home.

The club, celebrating their 50th anniversary this year, will hold an open day at Loggerheads Lane, Hanbury, on Saturday from 1pm until 4pm.

There will be a free chance for visitors to try the sport alongside archery-related games, demonstrations and cream teas.

There will be an official naming ceremony performed by landowner Robert John.

Committe chairman Ian Cadwallader said: “The local farming community, including the landowner, have been incredibly helpful in offering us support, advice and practical help to turn the field into a dedicated archery venue.

"It has taken many months of hard work but having a seven-days-a-week shooting facility in such beautiful surroundings has made it all worthwhile.”

The club have more than 90 members aged from eight to almost 80 and more details are available at droitwicharchery.co.uk.
