BROMSGROVE Sporting's under-16 side are celebrating a league and cup double.

Sporting bagged a 3-0 win over West Hagley in the Worcestershire County Cup final to add another piece of silverware to their league title.

With only one loss and one draw for the season, Bromsgrove had already clinched the Division One title to gain promotion into the Central Warwickshire League’s under-18s Premier Division.

First half saw Hagley starting well with some good play which resulted in them hitting the post and the Sporting keeper Jack Pinfield pulling off a string of good saves.

Sporting responded to Hagley's pressure with some good defending and counter attacking.

They opened the scoring after Tom Smith converted a James Webster cross from the right.

Smith's second of the game in the second half and another strike from Evan Houghton wrapped up the win to cap a memorable season for manager Lee Smith's youngsters.

Sporting are now looking for new players for next season's under-18 team, which plays on Sundays. Anyone interested should be going into school year 12 or 13 next year and can contact Lee Smith on 07810201976.
