BARLEY Mow angler Ken Legge improved on his previous week’s third place to win his club’s competition between the bridges on the Droitwich canal.

Bread punch on peg two produced a run of skimmers and small roach before Legge changed to maggot bait to top up his net with perch for 6lb 15oz 9dr.

In a rare appearance on adjacent peg one runner-up Gary Summers used a similar approach for 6-10-8 of skimmers and roach.

He beat third-placed Pete Chance’s bread-caught, all-roach 5-12-4 from peg 15.

Section prizes went to Dave Anderson, Dave Lowe and Mick Sparkes.

Alan Baldwin won the Friday contest on a wind-lashed Drummonds Dub with small roach and a few skimmers on caster bait from peg 10 for 17-0.

Runner-up was organiser Dave Warren on peg six where he netted skimmers to 2lb on pellet bait for 13-6.

Third came Bill Hartland with 10-5 from peg nine while fourth was Richard Blight with a waggler and maggot-taken skimmer net of 9-9.

Worcester’s Rob Wilson (St Stephens WMC) won the Sunday Woodland View open on Deans pool with 115-6 of carp.

All his fish fell for pellet and corn offered into the margins on peg four.

On peg six came Glyn Clark (Peg One AC) in second place with smaller stamp fish to the winner going 96-12 and third was Owen Boswell with 82-0.
