FABULOUS Fairfield Villa fired home a magnificent seven goals to get their Midland League Division Two campaign back on track.

Connor Collins led the charge with a hat-trick as Villa hammered next-to-bottom Hampton 7-1 to stay third in the table.

Villa spokesman Paul Oakes said: "It was a much better performance and everyone played well. We had the game wrapped up at 5-0 by half time and the second half was just a case of how many goals we would score.

"We lost Alex Dugmore early in the game through injury and Ellis Blakemore came on and proved unplayable. He was superb."

Collins opened the scoring following a somewhat dubious penalty award before Blakemore blasted home a spectacular second after rounding several Hampton players.

Further goals from Collins and Dan Wilkes made it 4-0 before Jack Connolly headed home a fifth by the interval.

Wilkes then netted his second goal before Collins completed the rout with another penalty, taking his league tally to 23 for the term.

Villa look to build on this victory when they travel to Smithswood on Saturday in another Midland League Two contest.
