DROITWICH Rugby Club maintained their lead of Midlands Three West (South) with a 39-8 win at Woodrush after scoring seven tries.
Dan Wilkinson, Sam O’Brien, Pete Knight, Rob Poke, Bradley Smith (2) and James Shewell all dived over.
Bobby Scott-Walker converted two but missed five more.
Wilkinson put Spa ahead with an unconverted try before Woodrush levelled.
Scott-Walker missed a penalty and failed to add the extras to an O’Brien try. Woodrush hit back with a penalty, but that was their final score.
Droitwich took control with Knight’s converted try and Poke also went over.
Smith scored a second-half brace and Shewell added another with one conversion from Scott-Walker.
Droitwich will host Clee Hill in the RFU Midlands Senior Vase second round on Saturday, October 15.
But first Spa travel to high-fliers Evesham in the league this Saturday.
