BROMSGROVE Sporting boss Paul Smith was less then impressed with his side's 3-1 Midland League Division One win at Coventry Copsewood.

He insisted: "You might as well put a full stop after the result because that was it.

"We didn't defend well, the midfield didn't work hard enough and up front we missed many easy chances.

" We got the three points and that's about all you can say.

"Coventry Copsewood had beaten leaders Lichfield City last week and I was expecting a much harder game. If we continue to play like we did against them, we'll get turned over by the better sides in this division because we just weren't at the races."

Smith was expected to ring the changes for the midweek League Cup clash with powerful Premier side Sporting Khalsa as Chris Lloyd, Sam Wills and Keenan Meakin-Richards were all ruled out through work commitments.

Added to that were injury worries to Luke Edwards and Chrisi Conway following the clash with Copsewood.

Smith is keeping his fingers cross all will be available for Saturday's FA Vase clash at West Midland League side Tipton Town The Bromsgrove boss added: "Tipton had a wretched time last season when they were relegated from the Premier Division but they must have improved as they sit second in Division One. We won't be taking them lightly and I'll be looking for a marked improvement on the Coventry Copsewood game. We have a side capable of a good FA Vase run."

Sporting were handed an early shock by Copsewood when Dave Blenkinsop fired them into a second minute lead.

But Sporting were back level three minutes later when a Sean Braqin shot struck the post but Robbie Bunn was quick to responded, latching onto the rebound to slot home.

Brain then put Sporting in front on 31 minutes from the penalty spot after being fouled himself.

Copsewood were reduced to 10 men on 66 minutes when Craig Civzekis was sent off.

Substitute Chrisi Conw3ay then converted a third Sporting goal on 76 minutes with a looping headers from an Aaron Roberts cross.

Further chances went begging before Sporting also had their ranks reduced in stoppage time when Roberts was dismissed for a second yellow card.
