BROMSGROVE Under-13s Girls made a storming start to the season as they edged out Old Elizabethans in a high-scoring game.

Elizabethans won the toss and elected to field first but the young Boars side rotated the strike well and punished =bad balls as they posted 302 in the pairs format game.

All of the Bromsgrove’s girls bowled with good discipline and control restricting Old Elizabethans to 288 to clinch a 24-run win for the Boars girls.

Club spokesman Lisa Smiley said: “It was really encouraging to see such a high level of cricket on display.

“This was a fantastic first victory for the U13 Bromsgrove CC girls, joining the club’s U11 girls in being undefeated this season.”
