SAM Boswell is set for the ultimate test after qualifying for the World Ironman Championships in Hawaii.
The Bromsgrove triathlete, who works as a sports massage therapist, booked her place at the tournament in October with an impressive display at the nationals.
Competing in the 45 to 49 age category, she completed the 3.8 kilometre swim, 180lm bike ride and 42.2km run in 11 hours, 38 minutes and 13 seconds.
She said: “I can’t tell you how hard I’ve worked for this result both on the day at Ironman UK but in training too.
“I have had a lot of help from friend Mike Hazlewood from Saracen Road Cycling Club and that made all the difference to my bike on race day.”
She was cheered on by husband Andy and son Charlie who have both been a huge help.
Sam added: “Andy has driven me to races and massively helped with my injury prevention and on the day logistics. When my head is a mess he is always the voice of reason.
“Charlie is my inspiration, I can’t wait to show him Hawaii.”
Boswell is sponsored by Elliott Nash Ltd.
The World Championships will see athletes will embark on a 140.6-mile journey that presents the ultimate test of body, mind and spirit.
