ETHAN Hanks became the latest youngster from Bromsgrove Sporting’s ranks who has been given a shot at professional football, after he was signed by League One side Chesterfield.

The versatile attacker has joined the Derbyshire outfit’s youth academy after impressing scouts.

Hanks follows in the footsteps of Jordan Gibson, who joined Scottish giants Glasgow Rangers last summer.

He's been one of the mainstays of Bromsgrove’s under-21s as they finished third in the Midlands under-21s South.

He scored six goals in 13 appearances and has also caught the eye of senior team boss Paul Smith, who has handed him several starts.

Director of football Graham Scott said: “Ethan is a talented lad and he’s been given a great chance at Chesterfield.

“He’s done very well for us and fair play to Paul Smith for giving him a chance."
