BROMSGROVE Sporting chairman Jon Prescott played down speculation that Worcester City will groundshare at the Victoria Ground next season after the club installed new turnstiles.

The improvements increased hopes that Bromsgrove's county neighbours will become tennants for the 2016-17 season.

Worcester, who are in the process of developing a new stadium, currently play at Kidderminster Harriers and have an option to extend for another year.

But City chairman Anthony Hampson claimed last week the Blues will have to look elsewhere as the Wyre Forest outfit look at other options.

Both Bromsgrove and Evesham United have been mooted as possible new bases for Worcester.

Prescott confirmed the new turnstiles and but said he didn't know what other work would be needed to make the Victoria Ground eligible for the Vanarama North.

Any possible improvements would be determined by a ground grading before the deadline of March 31.

Sporting's chairman also stressed there had been no talks with Worcester.

Prescott said: "It is going to take a long time for Bromsgrove Sporting to reach the Conference but we're trying to improve the ground as we go on.

"We haven't spoke to Worcester but obviously it would be a financial boost for the club to have them groundshare with us."
