A WEEKEND of mixed results saw honours even in two matches against Droitwich.

The Mixed D team took on Droitwich D on Saturday in Division Six and ran out comfortable 3-1 winners.

Captain Lisa Rushton paired up with Bruce Turner to secure two victories.

Lesley Hodson, playing with Chris Hands, had a tougher time winning one close contest, but then just going down in a tie break to lose the other.

Sunday saw the score reversed in a very close Division Seven match where the Ladies D lost to Droitwich C.

Marie Hacket and captain Connie Wedelich opened up with a three-set success, but the effort of winning this tight rubber showed as they were just edged out in the next rubber.

Beccy Smith and Anne Simper were unable to convert some strong positions in tight encounters, which allowed Droitwich to take it.

The most impressive victory went to the Men’s B team, who travelled to Stourport to take on their A team in a Division Three meeting.

The pairs of Ollie Stratford with Steve Jones and Ash Rutter with Phil Boardman were in impressive form as they swept to a 4-0 victory to secure maximum points.

The result was reversed as the Men’s A Team went down by the same score against Stourbridge A in Division One.

Adam Dudek with Steve Halfpenny pushed Stourbridge all the way and were unlucky not to get a rubber.

Luke Pettit with Sam Hilput-Smith weren’t able to match the firepower of Stourbridge.

The Ladies C team entertained a very strong David Lloyd Worcester A team and were brushed aside 4-0 as neither pair of Hannah Weston with Lyn Wooley or Joan McGregor with Steph Armstrong found a way.
