BATSMAN Ed Pollock continued his magnificent form as he smashed another eye-catching century during Barnt Green's winning draw in Wolverhampton.

The 19-year-old has been in absolutely stunning form the Cherry Hill Road side and his latest innings of 119 means he has averaged 100 runs in four of his matches in the Birmingham League Premier.

But the local lad, who is thought to be attracting the interest of Warwickshire and Worcestershire, has also been prolific for Herefordshire, breaking their individual batting record with an unbeaten 227 against Eastnor in the Unicorns County Championship last month.

Captain Andy Sutton said: "Ed is a local lad who is really enjoying his cricket and he's playing extremely well at the moment.

"He's playing a lot of games and we've had a chat about not overdoing because even though he's only 19 we don't want Ed to burn out.

"But it's great to see a guy who came through the club score so many runs and long may it continue."

Pollock's contribution stood out as Green produced an overall good display against their fellow strugglers in the bottom half of the table.

Asked to bat first by the hosts at Danescourt, Green filled their boots and made 291-6 in 55 overs.

Sam Cheshire (51) also maintained his good form with the bat, while Matt Lamb also hit 38 runs.

Wolverhampton did their best to give chase and were guided by Matthew Kleinveidt but when Darrell Williams trapped him LBW on 96, the hosts lost their momentum and settled for 261-7.

Green are eighth in the table but Sutton remains positive.

Sutton said: "It was frustrating because I thought we were the better side but credit to Wolverhampton they did go for it.

"For the rest of the season we should have every players available, I am hoping we can get as many points as possible and move up the table."

Green commence the second half of the season at Kenilworth Wardens on Saturday (noon start).
