CHADDESLEY Corbett maintained the pressure on the leader sides in Worcestershire League Division Three with a five-wicket win over Bartestree and Lugwardine.

Corbett’s victory over another top five side means they are still within touching distance of table-topping Alvechurch and Hopwood, trailing them by three places and 16 points.

Chaddesley had won the toss and opted to bowl first and they took full advantage of their opponents by dismissed Lugwardine for 87.

Chris Mole lead the way with figures of 5-20, while Mohammad Saddiq (2-21) and Waqur Ahmed (2-13) also contributed.

In reply, Corbett did not have it all their own way and were made to work hard before the reached 88-5 by the 15th over.

At one stage, they were 38-4 before Saddiq (28no) helped them over the line.

Chaddesley are at home to Rushwick on Saturday (1pm start).

Meanwhile, the seconds lost to Bartestree by 36 runs.

Lugwardine made 183-6, with Corbett dismissed for 147.
