JOINT manager Mark Owen rolled back the years as he produced a goal-scoring display in Droitwich Spa’s 4-0 win over Earlswood in the Midlands Division Two.

The former Worcester City goal ace, 37, was drafted into the side because James Lemon was absent and Macauley Finch was called up by Worcester.

But Owen, who has been banging in the goals for Spa’s over-35s team, scored one and set up two more as Droitwich made it six wins in a row.

James Ward bagged a brace and James Halsall another in a eye-catching win.

Joint boss Wayne Oliver said: “Mark was holding himself back all season because we wanted the young guys to play but we had no forwards and he was happy to play.”

Owen is set to move to the bench for Saturday’s game at FC Glades Sporting (3pm ko).

Lemon is preparing to return to action, although Finch is on holiday and Ward could miss the game because of family commitments.
