RUGBY: Droitwich turned in their worst performance of the season to go down 39-12 to an experienced Malvern side.
On a very blustery day, Malvern worked as a team to punish the visitors, who failed to replicate their recent good form.
Along with some very questionable refereeing decisions and poor play by the visitors, which allowed Malvern to expose their defensive frailties and score easy tries.
During a poor day for the club there were some bright moments.
The in-form Sam Davenport scored two very good tries to keep his hot streak going.
But Spa could never get any momentum after obvious decisions were continually given against the young Droitwich side.
Spa will be hoping to bounce back on Saturday but they face a tough task when they entertain league leaders Newbold.
HOCKEY: Bromsgrove Badgers produced a stunning performance to see off opponents Coventry Badgers 4-1.
Captain Alfie Pullen was in inspirational mood, while in midfield Dougie Bridge was commanding as he bagged an impressive double.
Jay Barrett led the line brilliantly and also scored a brace of high-quality goals, which coupled with his link play made him one the star performers, while ‘keeper Theo Gardner was solid.
