DROITWICH Spa Ladies suffered their second defeat of the season when they were edged out 2-1 by Kidderminster.

Spa had started brightly and were dominating the game’s opening stages before opening the scoring in the 15th minute when central midfielder Sophie Blackmore scored her second goal of the season.

Droitwich should have been at least 4-0 up by half-time but great goalkeeping and last-ditch defending kept Kidderminster in the game.

After half-time Droitwich were caught napping and Kiddy’s equaliser came from their left wing six minutes into the half.

Their second came moments later when the ball dribbled over the goal line following some scrappy play in the D.

Kidderminster’s dogged determination for the rest of the half meant Droitwich were unable to capitalise on the pressure they put on their opposition goal.

Droitwich will be looking to get back to winning ways this weekend when they travel to Old Hales.

Droitwich Spa Fathoms played their second game of the season with a mix of youth and experience and lost 3-1 to Old Silhillians.

David Purchase had fired them ahead but Old Sils came from behind to win the game.

Droitwich Under-13s defeated all three of Bromsgrove A, Bromsgrove B and Kings Heath Pickwick in the monthly county tournament.

Fernando Prenderville, Matthew Gurr and John Phillips all got their names on the scoresheet.

Droitwich Spa Men’s Seconds got the better of Redditch 3-1, with goals for Joe Neal and Liam Hine (2).

The thirds saw off Kings Heath Pickwick 3-1.
