Droitwich Spa Ladies 2 Worcester 3rds 1

SPIRITED Droitwich Spa Ladies scored twice to sink Worcester in the second half.

Lucy Hine capped a fine display by opening the scoring with a well-hit effort.

Worcester levelled the score ten minutes later before Jasmine Williams converted a penalty corner from Susan Williams to seal the win.

Spa’s third win of the season keeping them in third place and they host Bromsgrove thirds on Saturday.

The Men’s first went down 6-0 at Bloxwich in the West Midlands Division One.

The men’s seconds got the better of promotion chasing Wednesbury 3-1.

After a goalless first half, Marcus Claytor bagged a brace and Alex Coleborne added a third.

While Wednesbury pulled an effort back, Spa held onto the win to stay top of the table.

The men’s thirds drew 3-3 against Finchfield.

Droitwich started the game slowly, but Finchfield took the lead from a Short corner which was deflected by the defence and then past the keeper.

But a hat-trick for Pete Best and one for Luke Wickes saw Droitwich race into a 4-1 lead.

However, Finchfield scored three goals in 12 minutes, two of which from a short corner.

Droitwich have the long trip to Keele University to play Market Drayton this weekend as they look to move up the league.
