PAUL Smith believes Bromsgrove Sporting face what could be a season-defining trio of games in the Midlands Football League Division One.

The Rouslers, who are sixth in the table, face three top-five teams in the space of eight days.

On Saturday, they kick-off their testing run at leaders Littleton with a 3pm kick off, then they entertain fifth-placed Bolehall Swifts on Tuesday kicking off at 7.45pm and complete the sequence at third in table Uttoxeter on October 25 at 3pm.

Bromsgrove go into the clash at Littleton on the five-game winning streak in all competitions.

Their opponents have picked up just one point from a possible nine.

“We’ve got a very tough run of games coming up and it could well define the season,” said Bromsgrove’s manager.

“We’ll know after whether we are capable of mixing it with the best.

“But we go in with a lot of confidence and have won the last five games, while Littleton have struggled in the last few weeks.”

Smith should have a full strength squad to call upon, with Danny Ludlow the only doubt.

The manager was also pleased with Sporting’s overall performance as they saw off Division Three Smithswood First 2-1 to progress in the Les James Cup.

Despite trailing to Chris Else’s goal, a Will Tibbetts strike and a free-kick from Simon Fitter secured progress.

“I thought it was the most convincing 2-1 win I have seen,” commented Smith.

“We were in control from the start and looked comfortable.

“Smithswood scored with their first effort on target and could have added a second but that did not reflect the performance, which I was very pleased overall.

“We’ve strung some results together and have gone a little under the radar but that is a good thing.”

Meanwhile, Sporting have brought in young forward Aaron Daniels, who had previously played professionally in Norway.
