BROMSGROVE Sporting have appointed Paul Smith as their new manager.

Smith switches from the Rousler’s Midlands Football Division One rivals Studley to take the reins at the Victoria Ground.

Smith will replace Adrian Mander, who quit in controversial circumstance a fortnight ago.

Chairman John Teece said: “Movement of managers is never planned, but can come out of the blue as it did with the resignation of Adrian Mander just over a seek ago.

“One of my jobs as chairman is to have a view of a number of managers who could fit the bill if we need to find a replacement.

“Paul is one of those I have monitored over the last couple of years.

“Fortunately he applied and my football committee felt he was the leading candidate who ticked all the boxes for us. I didn't even need to vote!

“I would like to express my thanks to Adrian for his work over the past year and also to his wife Mandy who was a big help behind the scenes.”
