BROMSGROVE Indoor Bowling Club celebrated their 20th anniversary by taking on England at their Austin Road home last week.
A thrilling four-hour clash concluded with the scores 125-125, with the Bromsgrove team of Tom Farrar, Jean Attwood, Ray Kellard and Angie Farrar taking the highest winning rink prize and defeating England’s Bob Niblock 29-14 to ensure the tie.
On Sunday, the country’s under-16s and 18s players competed in the English Nationals in Bromsgrove.
In the U18s, Watford’s Bradley Cole saw off Jordan Phillpot, while in the U16s Kent’s William Moulton defeated Oliver Fowler.
The club were chosen as hosts because of their youth training on Sundays (10am to noon.) Anyone interested can call Peter Cliff on 01527 577226.
