PAUL Oakes is taking noth- Alistair Liddle both saved ing for granted as his side prepare for a local derby with Droitwich Spa.

The Fairfield Villa manager has set his sights on a top-four spot in Midland Combination Division One.

But he feels Droitwich will be a tougher nut to crack than their lowly league position would suggest.

“We played them a few weeks in a cup game and it’s fair to say it was entertaining – it finished 6-6,” said Oakes.

We know they need points and games against them are always tough and no doubt they will raise their game again.”

Saturday’s game with FC Glades Sporting was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch and Oakes hopes his side can now build some momentum, starting at home to Droitwich.

“We need to be playing games on a regular basis now, we don’t want to keep missing them as the breaks don’t help.

I think we’ve got a good squad together and with the fixtures we have being against teams blow us for the remainder of the season hopefully we can push towards the top four.”

Fairfield will be without Jake Fowler who starts a suspension for his red card in the 4-2 win over Chelmsley Town ago while Andrew Cook serves a one-match ban.

However, Oakes hopes James Cund will be back from injury to bolster the squad
