LOCAL interest will be high on Friday's Harkaway Point-to-Point contest in Chaddesley Corbett, with Himbleton-based Ashfield's Dream favourite in the Conditions race.

The horse, owned by Williams and Angela Rucker, would be popular winner but he has to see off the challenge of Khyber Kim, who was runner-up in the 2010 Championship Hurdle.

Corbett racecourse’s star has been in the ascendancy in recent years after years of hard work by organisers and a bumper 225 entries are set to race in front of a big crowd.

The Ruckers must also stand a good chance of taking the Men's Open with their summer purchase Beneficial Reform, but he will have his work cut out against the likes of Cottage Oak, Bobs Law and Cock of the Rock, while Nobby Kivambo, All Great N Theory, Shouldhavehadthat and Theatre Queen have solid Point-to-Point form.

The Restricted race will be he most open, with all ten capable of winning it, while the Ladies Open may see the re-appearance of Cottage Oak who was disappointing at Barbury.

A huge number of entries means the Members Maiden has already been divided with 29 in each half.

Rally the Troops and Storm Lantern are favourites in Division One, while in Division Two Sountine is tipped to take the race in the hands of Hindlip-based trainer/rider Tom Weston.

The racing action starts 11am on Friday.
