7:00am Thursday 7th February 2013 in Local
THERE will be a feast of pugilistic action on Saturday as Droitwich Amateur Boxing Club (DABC) holds another tournament at the Stoke Prior Sports and Country Club.
Midland Counties welterweight champion Michael Pardoe, 26, tops the bill, taking on Walsall’s Darren Breeze who has won national titles at junior level.
Other seniors taking part include light-heavyweight Anthony Badams, 27, middleweight Aaron Beckford, 25, and welterweight Lewis Vine, 24.
Several juniors will be making their debuts, along with more experienced juniors such as Paul Butler, 15, 14-year-olds Mikey O’Toole, Luke Evans and Wayne Smith and Solomon Butler, 13.
“Mikey, Wayne and Solomon all lost on split decisions in this year’s Midlands Championships and they will be looking to get back to winning ways,” said coach Chris Andrews.
Boxing is due to start at 8pm and admission is £10 for adults and £5 for children. Anyone who wants more information should call Andrews on 07961 375903.
