BROMSGROVE pair Geoff Cottrill and Nathan Crewe finished third overall in the British Trials and Rally Drivers Association Championships.

The dynamic duo competed in seven events in the Forest of Dean, The Lake District, Somerset and also four events in Wales.

Cottrill scored 95 points throughout the season with the first and second position drivers scoring 97 each.

Meanwhile, Crewe recorded 96 in the co-driver standings, just a point behind the leading two.

They race a 300 bhp, four-wheel drive MG Metro, which was built from a bare shell and is modified beyond the normal specification.

Reliability has been the key to this season’s success, with the car finishing all of the events.

Driver Cottrill said: “It was satisfying to win a trophy in one of the top championships in the country.”

The crew are supported by local companies DOME Motorsport, Wychbold Garage and Morris Lubricants.
