Strong winds at Open event
THE Enterprise Midland Area Championship Open meeting took place at the Barnt Green Sailing Club over the weekend, as part of the Double Chine series.
A total of 21 boats entered the two-day event, including nine boats from the home club and all were tested to the full, particularly on the Saturday, by some strong windy conditions.
The overall winners of the weekend were Richard Adams and James Holmes from Bartley Green SC, with second going to Tim and Hannah Sadler of Rippon SC, while Ges Brown and Dennis Swain came in third.
The highlight of the weekend was fifth race, known as the Trophy' race, when Richard Tuckett and his son Peter (BGSC) were first to the opening mark and continued to lead the race for an initial period, before Brown and Swain took the victory.
Results: First Barnt Green Sailing Club Boat: Adrian and Caroline Savage.
First Lady helm: Kelsey Suggitt (BGSC). First under-18 boat: Joe Taylor and Sam Evans (BGSC).
