BROMSGROVE Blades under-12s opened their account with a 5-3 loss against Glades United.

Goals for Curtis Smith and Evan Houghton had fired Blades into a 2-0 lead but their opponents pulled one back before half-time.

Curtis scored again after the break but United hit back with a flurry of goals.

Santiago Colts also got underway with a host of matches. The under-9s Colts Green side losing 3-0 to Woodbourne, with Tom Fowke was man of the match. Santiago Colts White under-9s lost 6-3 to Coldland Colts Black, despite Ryan McCarthy (2) and Regan Jennings scoring. Jake Stewart was man of the match.

Tom Broomhall and Rebecca Chalinor as Santiago Colts Shamrocks under-11s beat Smithswood Boys 2-1.

Santiago Colts Hotshots went down to Boldmere Falcons Colts U12 3-0. Lewis Panting was man of the match.

Man of the match Nathan Timmington scored as Santiago Colts under-12s went down 6-1 to Castle Bromwich United.

Santiago Colts under-13s beat Coppice Hawks 1-0, with Shane Robinson bagging the all-important goal.

In a thrilling League Cup encounter, Santiago Colts Northfield lost 2-1 to holders Kingshurst Sporting.

Santiago Colts Lickey opened with a good team performance to beat Moor Green Colts 6-3 in the League Shield, with Daniel Wintle (2), Daniel White, Bradley Stevens, Charley Hood and man of the match Daniel Kimber on target.

Santiago’s under-16s were edged out 4-3 on penalties to Shirley Town Juniors after a thrilling 3-3 draw in the Open Cup. Man of the match Astley Rana (2) and Farron Dokhi hit the back of the net.
