DROITWICH had to settle for a losing draw in Worcestershire League Division One as they were held by Bromyard on Saturday.
Spa’s opponents made 217-9 and Droitwich were restricted to 186-7.
Ian Cottrill was the hero, top-scoring with 53. The draw means Spa cannot catch second-placed Pershore.
They will be hoping to see off Pedmore at home on Saturday to seal third place (12.30pm start).
In Division Three, relegation strugglers Chaddesley Corbett need a win to ensure they stay out of the drop zone after losing to promoted Harvington.
David Chappel took four wickets as Harvington were dismissed for 123.
Harvington bowler Lee Ross tore through Corbett’s order, taking 4-13 as they were dismissed for 73.
They have to better Kidderminster and Malvern’s results in their final matches when they go to Harborne on Saturday (12.30pm start).
Malvern go to Himbleton and Kidderminster entertain champions Cookley.
Avoncroft’s 69-run Division Four defeat to Ross-on-Wye saw them miss out on promotion as Ross leapfrogged them into second.
Avoncroft put their opponents in but Sebatian Warwick top-scored with 90 , as Ross hit 173-9.
Christiaan Ferreira (5-43) and James Tiffen (4-16) took control, and despite David James’ 23 Avoncroft were dismissed for 104 Saturday fixtures – Worcestershire League Division One 1st XI: Droitwich v Pedmore.
Division One 2nd XI: Pedmore v Droitwich.
Division Three 1st XI: Harborne v Chaddesley Corbett; Kidderminster v Cookley.
Division Three 2nd XI: Chaddesley Corbett v Romsley & Hunnington. All match 1.30pm start.
