BROMSGROVE’S hopes of a top-five finish were dented after both of their matches in the Birmingham and District League Division One were washed out over the Bank Holiday weekend.

The Boars remain in the bottom half of the table after a frustrating few days.

Their game against Kenilworth Wardens on Saturday was rained off with the Warwickshire outfit 25-1.

To make matters worse, Bromsgrove had reduced Ombersley to 182-8 on Monday when play had to be stopped because of the wet weather.

Bromsgrove are now eighth in the table and with three matches of the season left, can still finish third if results go their way.

They are currently 14 points behind fifth-placed Ombersley.

However, they face a match which could make or break their hopes to finish in the top half of the table on Saturday at home to fourth-placed Dorridge.

Bromsgrove complete their campaign at home to Whitchurch on Saturday, September 8 and at Wombourne a week later.
