CATSHILL under-11s celebrated a successful season at their end of season awards on Sunday.

The team reached the final of the Central Warwickshire Youth Football League Shield in May and also maintained their position in Division Three with some good performances.

Picking up the main awards on the afternoon were top goal-scorer Max Jukes, players’ player of the year George Hellawell and player of the year Thomas Downing.

The team will be under-12s next year and are looking to add to their squad.

n Meanwhile, the under-10s reached the semi-finals of the Ledbury Swifts tournament at the weekend.

After losing the opening game to eventual tournament winners Hinton, Catshill beat Warndon Village Jaguars 2-0 with Jacob Wakeling on target twice. Wins over Westfields and Cookley ensured their progression into the knockout stages, where they lost to the hosts 1-0 in extra-time.
