DROITWICH Athletic Club runners are preparing for their annual 10-kilometre road race on Wednesday, July 11.
The town athletic club host the race which starts from 7.30pm at Chawson Barn, New Chawson Lane, and heads out to Salwarpe and Porter’s Mill before returning to base.
It will be the third of four contests in the Worcestershire Summer Mid-week Series and Droitwich have three runners in with a chance of a medal.
Paul Little is second in the series’ male open category as is Andy Parmley in the male over 40 section, while Emily Humphreys sits third in the female open.
For more information, visit droitwichac.co.uk. Entry is on the day with registration at Droitwich Spa High School, Briar Mill, costing £6 or £4 for members of affiliated running clubs. Away from the mid-week series, numerous members took part in the Acorns Malvern half-marathon.
Little and Steve Wells finished ninth and 11th respectively in times of one hour 23 minutes 24 seconds and 1.23.50.
Douglas Ward set a new personal best of 1.33.50 and other successful finishers included Trevor McGill, Peter Robinson, Tony Robbins and Kaz Hewlett.
