BROMSGROVE driving duo Geoff Cottrill and Nathan Crewe lead their class at the halfway stage of the British Trials and Rally Drivers Association Gold Star Championship.
Races take place at monthly intervals and this has seen the Morris Lubricants-backed crew travel to the Forest of Dean, the Lake District, Wales and Somerset, with three more events in Wales remaining in the World Rally Car class.
The pair have done well to top a class where their self-built MG Metro 6R4 is going head-to-head with more expensively-assembled machines.
They are enjoying leading at the moment but the more powerful and technologically advanced World Rally Cars will ultimately be snapping at their heels.
The pair have also been helped by local firms Cottrill Transport Ltd, Wychbold Garage, Dennis Osborne Motorsport and Engineering, and Morris Lubricants from Shrewsbury.
