WORCESTER City believe they are on track to beat the number of season tickets sold last year as they enter their last ever campaign at St George’s Lane.

With the new Blue Square Bet North campaign still two months away, City have already sold 125 tickets, around half the total figure 12 months ago.

Most of the current sales have been in the adult category and the club are hopeful of breaking through the 250-barrier once junior tickets have been taken into account.

Company secretary John Jordan said: “Because there’s no massive discount on junior tickets there’s no real advantage to get them early and we sold a lot of the children’s ones last season.

“When they are factored in we should be up on last year.

“All in all we are quite pleased with the way we are going at the moment but we would welcome a load more.”

The early bird plus 10 per cent discount offer ended on Wednesday but fans can still get reductions on full price tickets.

If bought before the end of July, it costs £210 for adults to sit and £150 for concessions, while it’s £180 and £120 respectively to stand. Junior season tickets cost £20.

However, the club are keen to push the new young adult category, for 16 to 21-year-olds, having only sold one ticket in that group.
